Dear Congregation and Friends of St Mary Longcot,
Please find attached the Benefice Newsletter and associated documents for Sunday. May I draw your attention to the back page of the Newsletter and a report (with photographs) of last Sunday’s dedication of the Fernham War Memorial.
St Mary, Longcot. I am afraid that the recent surge in COVID infections within the Vale has prompted changes to the Benefice pattern of services. Our planned Holy Communion at St Mary has now been changed to a Family service and will be led by Julian Stevens from Shrivenham. It will begin at 9.30am. (Don’t forget that the clocks go forward an hour tonight.) Our very grateful thanks go to Julian who has stepped forward at short notice to take the service.
Old Pews. This is the last opportunity to secure one of our old pews before they need to be removed from the barn next to the church. Wednesday 30th March is the cut-off date. So if you would like one then please make contact with Chris Gotch or me as soon as possible. All we are asking is a donation to church funds.
Daily Opening of St Mary. With the change to British Summer Time, we will revert to our usual pattern of opening St Mary every day from 1st April between the hours of approximately 10am to 4pm. Feel free to come and enjoy the calm and reflective peace that St Mary provides.
Best Wishes,
Dennis
