I received news this morning, via the village Facebook page, about the passing of Peter Mortimer from his daughter Kim.

I wanted to pass on some news to those of you who might have known us or remember us. My lovely Dad, Peter Mortimer, sadly died on the 19th March. We lived in the Post Office for many years and will probably be best remembered for mowing the village green and the churchyard, often wearing little more that cut off jeans and wellies!

My sisters and I have lots of very happy memories of growing up in Longcot and being part of the village community. It will always be a special place to us.
