Dear Congregation and Friends of St Mary,
Please find attached this week’s Benefice Newsletter and associated documents. There are several items concerning Longcot in the Newsletter, so it is definitely worth printing off!
Holy Communion Service By Extension – Sunday 20th June. Richard Fergusson will be leading a Holy Communion Service in St John’s Church Fernham on Sunday. The service begins at 9.30am.
Building Work in St Mary. In the Newsletter our architect has shared some photos of the building work being undertaken in St Mary. Lots of progress has already been made and there is more to come.
Longcot Village Green Concerts. The Newsletter also contains details of the two concerts being given by the Clarinet Collective on Sunday 25th July. A flyer is also attached which I would ask that you share with friends and relatives. Tickets will go quickly, so book early. (PS Kathy and I have already booked.) For this concert Vicky and her team are raising funds for St Mary’s belltower roof. We have put off repairing it for some time in order to raise money for the Community Hub but we are now at a stage when we can delay no longer, so please give generously to the appeal.
Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM). The Parish (Longcot with Fernham) APCM is due to be held on Wednesday 14th July at 7pm. A decision on whether to hold the meeting in person or via Zoom has yet to be taken and will depend on the latest Government and CofE guidance. Nonetheless, please put the date in your diary and we will promulgate details when we are able. In the meantime the Electoral Roll needs to be updated, so if you are not on the Roll and wish to be then please contact any member of the PCC for details or Lucy, the Benefice Administrator (shrivenham.ashbury.benefice@outlook.com<mailto:shrivenham.ashbury.benefice@outlook.com>).
Online Services. As usual the details of the Benefice sermons and online services for this Sunday can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/shrivenhamandashbury/.
Best Wishes,
Dennis
