When we get a free gift, it can easily become devalued in our perceptions. “If they gave it away, it can’t have been that valuable…..“. But when that gift is the chance to see talent and enthusiasm and love of art and time and energy all bundled into one present, we should all perhaps embrace and accept it.
Oxfordshire Art Week is probably the greatest free gift the County has to offer – and we are now in the final few days, so if you haven’t had the chance to see some of our local artists, now is the time. The good news is that it is so easy to find all the exhibitions on what is a very well-executed website. Simply click on the link HERE and a new window will open allowing you to search manually, or use the automatic location finder, to find artists exhibiting near you.
I did that this morning and found: (Click on the name to explore their OAW entry)
- EMMA ABLITT (Drawings and Stone Carvings)
- PAT ELMORE (200 Sculptures on Display)
- SHARON RICH (Sculptures)
- THE GREAT COXWELL ARTISTS (An entire village comes to artistic life on the Artists Trail)
…. and those are all under 2 miles from the King & Queen.
Go On – give yourself a bit of artistic fresh air.
